VOCAL MUSIC PROGRAM
COURSES

Treble Choral Union (Grades 9-12)

This class works toward performance of a wide variety of music including pop, holiday, patriotic, spiritual, and classical. Music theory and singing skills included. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day.

Tenor/Bass Choral Union (Grades 9- 12)

This course works toward performance of a wide variety of music including pop, holiday, patriotic, spiritual, and classical. Music theory and singing skills included. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day.

Treble Chamber Choir (Grades 9-12)

The Advanced Treble Chamber Choir is for the more advanced vocal student with strong singing skills. This group performs all genres of music—classical, folk, jazz, and pop with an emphasis on more difficult literature. Emphasis in this group is on performance, but without choreography, which will include several contests, concerts, and extra engagements during the year. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day. These outside activities will be a factor in determination of the grade.

Mixed Chamber Choir (Grades 9- 12)

The Advanced Mixed Chamber Choir is for the more advanced vocal student with strong signing skills. This group performs all genres of music – classical, folk, jazz, and pop with an emphasis on more difficult literature. Emphasis in this group is on performance, but without choreography, which will include several contests, concerts, and extra engagements during the year. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day. These outside activities will be a factor in determination of the grade.

Tiger Momentum – Show Choir (Grade 9)

Show Choir is for students with an exceptional voice and a flair for the dramatic. Membership in this class is based on singing ability and dance experience with an emphasis on vocal and dance productions. Each student will have the opportunity to learn correct singing techniques and combine these with creative movement. Students will be required to attend performances, rehearsals, and competitions which could be outside the school day. These outside activities will be a factor in determination of the grade.

Tiger Rhythm – Show Choir (Grades 10, 11 and 12)

Show Choir is for students with an exceptional voice and a flair for the dramatic. Membership in this class is based on singing ability and dance experience with an emphasis on vocal and dance productions. Vocal Studio (Grades 10, 11, and 12)

Vocal Studio is an advanced study of vocal technique, music theory, private voice training, and other studies associated with vocal training. This class is designed for students who may wish to study music after high school and or make a career from singing or teaching singing.
